Các đề cử tại giải thưởng Oscar 2021 đã chính thức được công bố. Hai vợ chồng Priyanka Chopra Jonas và Nick Jonas là những người công bố các đề từ trên đường đua năm nay qua truyền hình trực tiếp từ London.
Hạng mục giải thưởng quan trọng - Phim hay nhất - có sự góp mặt của 8 cái tên. Đó là The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Mank.
Trong đó, ấn tượng nhất là Mank, bộ phim đen trắng do Netflix sản xuất. Vì ngoài đề cử Phim hay nhất, tác phẩm của đạo diễn David Fincher còn xuất hiện tại các hạng mục quan trọng khác như Phim hay nhất, Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất cho Fincher, Nam diễn viên chính xuất sắc cho Gary Oldman và Nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc cho Amanda Seyfried. Bộ phim hiện đang dẫn đầu số lượng đề cử ở mùa Oscar năm nay.
Minari cũng xuất hiện ở đề cử Phim hay nhất
Một điều đáng chú ý khác là các nghệ sĩ và tác phẩm được đề cử năm nay có sự đa dạng về chủng tộc nhất từ trước đến nay. Cụ thể, 9 trong số 20 diễn viên được đề cử diễn xuất là người da màu, trong đó có nam diễn viên quá cố Chadwick Boseman, các nam diễn viên Riz Ahmed, Steven Yeun, Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield, Leslie Odom Jr., và các nữ diễn viên Viola Davis, Andra Day và Yuh-Jung Youn.
Lễ trao giải Oscar 2021 sẽ diễn ra tại Los Angeles’ Union Station và nhà hát Dolby (Los Angeles, Mỹ) vào ngày 25/4, sau khi hoãn 2 tháng vì COVID-19.
